About

This web log was originally titled “Becoming a Guitarist: An Experienced Musician Learns Classical Guitar”. And, during the year 2009, that was me and that was what I was doing. But that opportunity did not develop.

Now, in 2011, I’m back to broader musical activities, singing with more than one traditional choir, and working as a volunteer in publicity and marketing for a chamber orchestra, working as a music copyist, and a music technology consultant. By day I’m a computer consultant and network administrator. I still have a keen interest in guitars and guitarists, and I’ll continue to write about them.

More about me:

Wheat Williams was born in 1964, and has been a semi-professional musician since about 1987. He started his musical studies at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and finished his Bachelor of Music degree at Georgia State University in 1997. His major was recording studio engineering, and his principal instrument was traditional voice, which is to say opera singing. He’s a tenor.

Wheat’s musical outlet all these years has been singing traditional church music, as a chorister and soloist.
